We don’t have a fixed date of the rolling out of the new update but it will be very soon as we can see the traces of the upcoming Update in the Search console.

Not much is exactly new, outside of the core web vitals.

To make sure all Website Administrators do cope up with the latest update, they will be given enough time to prepare their website with the accordance of the guidelines.

Page experience scores will play a huge role in the Top Stories selection, instead of AMP. This will somewhat remove the need for AMP

Understand how page experience will affect ranking

Once the changes mentioned in google’s roadmap are rolled out, page experience will join the hundreds of signals that Google considers when generating Search results.

While page experience is important, Google still seeks to rank pages with the quality of the content and its past rankings, even if the page experience is subpar.

Great page experience doesn’t override having great page content. However, in cases where there are many pages that may be similar in relevance and content, page experience can be much more important for visibility in Search.

Page experience signals

The following signals are important for delivering a good page experience in Google Search:

  • Core web vitals:- The page provides a good user experience, focusing on the aspects of loading, interactivity, and visual stability. Core Web Vitals are a common set of signals critical to all web experiences.

The Core Web Vitals metrics are FID, LCP, and CLS, with their respective thresholds. A page passes the Core Web Vitals assessment if the 75th percentiles of all three metrics are Good.

Otherwise, the page does not pass the assessment. It also provides additional opportunities for improving your page insights.
